New Common Market location coming to Oakhurst

Screen Shot 2017-02-05 at 8.53.29 AMJust outside of the ever desirable neighborhood of Cotswold, a new location of the Common Market will be opening in the Oakhurst neighborhood, and the store will  appropriately be called Common Market OakWold. The company had originally planned to open a South End location, but the Oakhurst location just seemed to make more sense. Many people familiar with Common Market from Plaza Midwood now live with their families in neighborhoods like Oakhurst and Cotswold, so this seems like a good fit.

The new building will be 6,500 square feet and will include a 1,300 square-foot covered patio. The store will feature a full deli as well as coffee, beer and wine, retail and much more. There will also be a focus on prepared foods and to-go options, as the kitchen will be much bigger here than in the previous location.

With renovations already underway, the new store is slated to open this Spring. Common Market OakWold will be located at 4420-A Monroe Road, where Commonwealth Avenue ends at Monroe, between Sharon Amity and Wendover.

This is just one development among many along the Monroe Road corridor. A new retail development is also coming to Meridian Place which is just down the street, and Oakhurst Square, a new 90-acre mixed-use development, is also in the works for the corner of Monroe and Chippendale.
