Charlotte’s South End is about to have a new destination for dining, entertainment, and gathering with friends. The concept is an entertainment house with and upscale restaurant, and a place where you can spend a lot of time.
Joe Lariscy and Reid Olson are the brains behind the project. They have taken an 18,000 square foot venue and remade it. The project has taken 18 months and around $5 million to complete. They are down to the final details, and opening is expected in the next few weeks.
The interior will offer an upscale Gastro-TexMex restaurant. There will be a bar with local craft beers and a late-night bar menu. For entertainment, there are eight bowling lanes, shuffleboard, skee-ball, and ping-pong. There is also a lounge, multiple patios, and private event space.
Wherever it can, Queen Park is going local. From the mural artists to the materials. They are currently hiring and training staff and expect to eventually land around 100 employees.
South End is a great location as it is fast growing, and easily accessible. The Lynx Blue Line has been great for development. There is currently nothing like Queen Park in the area so they will initially have no direct competition.
Hours are expected to include happy hour, dinner, and late night each night. Brunch will also be offered on the weekends.
